Phil specialises in criminal law and intervention orders.

He is available for trials in Victoria and Interstate (including criminal matters funded by Legal Aid).

His experience includes:

  • appearing at trial in the Supreme and County Courts;
  • appearing at contested hearings in the Magistrates’ Court; and
  • advising, acting and appearing for litigants in intervention orders.

He has appeared in trials for:

  • Murder and Attempted Murder,
  • Drugs,
  • Violence,
  • Sexual assault, and
  • Fraud.

He has successfully argued issues involving:

  • no case to answer;
  • discontinuance of prosecution;
  • separation of trials;
  • irrelevant evidence;
  • unfairly prejudicial evidence; and
  • unreliable evidence.

He has volunteered at these community legal services:

  • Salvation Army Bourke Street,
  • Springvale, and
  • Fitzroy Legal Service.

He regularly volunteers his services as a moot court magistrate for the Victorian Bar Readers Course and the Victoria Police Prosecutors Course.
