About your speakers:

Carolyn Sparke KC has a specialist Family Law practice in matters which involve commercial or trust property issues. She also specialises in equity and trusts and succession law in addition to her wider practice in general commercial work, including superannuation disputes, property law, corporations matters, and Guardianship/Administration/Power of Attorney disputes. Carolyn was recognised by Doyle’s Guide in 2023 as one of three preeeminent silks in Wills & Estates litigation in Australia. She has extensive experience as a mediator.

Eleanor Mallett KC has substantial experience and considerable passion for her work in Family Law and Children’s Law matters. She has worked in both fields in the UK and Australia and has appeared in cases involving the full range of these areas, but has particular experience in complex matters involving children. She is an exceptional courtroom advocate with an emphasis on thorough preparation and a passion for cross examination. She has extensive experience in courtroom trials and appeals. Eleanor was recognised by Doyle’s Guide as Leading Parenting & Children’s Matters Senior Counsel for Victoria, 2023.

John Werner practises principally in family law. He has a particular interest in bankruptcy and third party claims. In parenting disputes, he has a particular liking for parental alienation and unacceptable risk cases. He appeared for the successful appellant before the Full Court in Senior v Anderson (2011) FLC 93-470, one of the leading appellate authorities on binding financial agreements.

Chris Trim predominantly practises in all areas of family law arising from matrimonial and de facto relationships, including parenting and property proceedings. He regularly appears in, and drafts documents for, the Federal Circuit Court and Family Court. Chris also regularly appears at mediations, including as mediator, and Applications for Intervention Orders. Chris has specialist expertise in surrogacy matters.

George Glezakos accepts briefs to appear in and advise on matters with a focus on family law and related areas of practice, including parenting and property matters, as well as to conduct mediations. George’s breadth of experience as an advocate and his years of practise as a solicitor mean that he is attuned to the needs of clients and instructing solicitors. George is a member of the Family Law Bar Association, the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia, and the Australian Institute of Family Law Arbitrators and Mediators (AIFLAM) and is a Nationally Accredited (NMAS) Mediator. George was recognised by Doyle’s Guide as a Leading Parenting & Children’s Matters Barrister for Victoria, 2023.

Emile Goldman practises in Family Law and Commercial Law and has particular expertise where these two practice areas intersect. Emile has strong quantitative skills and a deep understanding of complex commercial, accounting and financial issues. His experience in these areas result in him specialising in disputes involving complex quantitative issues and the analysis of expert reports. Emile’s Family Law practice focuses on complex property disputes, matters involving consideration of expert reports, and intervention order matters adjacent to family law.
