Luke accepts briefs in criminal and quasi criminal matters in metropolitan and regional courts, as well as intervention orders, compensation orders, common law, litigation, family law, VCAT proceedings and victims of crime assistance tribunal applications.
Prior to coming to the bar, Luke worked as a solicitor advocate at two law firms, appearing regularly in metropolitan and regional courts and tribunals, and working in the civil litigation team.
Luke has a passion for advocacy and guiding clients through complex areas of law at difficult times. Luke encourages early briefing and communication with solicitors, and accepts direct briefs from clients in appropriate circumstances.
Given the current situation with COVID-19, Luke is able to appear remotely using Webex and Microsoft Teams, where deemed appropriate by the Court.
Luke read with Jim H Shaw and his senior mentor was Justin Hannebery QC (now His Honour Judge Hannebery of the County Court).
