Simon’s practice is principally in the areas of common law personal injuries, coronial inquests, insurance and commercial litigation.

Simon has a wide trial and advice practice across commercial and civil jurisdictions.

Simon currently specialises in:

• Common law and statutory compensation matters involving the Accident Compensation Act 1985, Transport Accident Act 1986 and the Wrongs Act 1958;
• Coronial Inquests
• Insurance advice and litigation;
• Professional Liability Claims especially medical negligence, and claims against architects,   engineers, surveyors and builders;
• Contractual disputes including commercial tenancies and actions for possession and recovery of rent;
• Partnership disputes;
• Building and construction litigation.

Simon appears in the Supreme Court (including the Commercial Court), County and Magistrate’s Courts, and VCAT (Legal Practice List.)

Prior to coming to the bar, Simon was a solicitor in private practice for 16 years practising in the areas of commercial litigation and insurance. He practised as a solicitor with Arnold Bloch Leibler, was a Senior Associate at Phillips Fox (now DLA Piper), and Special Counsel at Herbert Geer. He was a partner at Ligeti Partners.

Simon also spent three years as Senior Legal Counsel at a publicly listed, healthcare services company. Simon has a particular interest in health law matters.
