Simon's practice is principally in the areas of common law personal injuries, coronial inquests, and insurance.
He is experienced in preparing, advising and appearing in matters involving:
Simon appears in the Court of Appeal, the Supreme Court, the County and the Coroners Court.
Simon appears in serious injury applications, jury and judge alone damages trials, and coronial inquests unled, or with Senior Counsel.
Simon prepares paperwork in all of the above areas. He is briefed to appear in Melbourne and also on circuit.
Prior to coming to the bar, Simon was a solicitor in private practice for 16 years, practising in the areas of commercial litigation and insurance. He practised as a solicitor with Arnold Bloch Leibler, was a Senior Associate at Phillips Fox (now DLA Piper), and Special Counsel at Herbert Geer. He was a partner at Ligeti Partners.
Simon also spent three years as Senior Legal Counsel at a publicly listed healthcare services company. Simon has a particular interest in medical negligence matters.
Simon is a member of the Common Law Bar Association.
