About

Ms Kermath is a tireless advocate and experienced barrister. Her principal areas of practice include Children’s Law, Criminal Law, Civil matters, Family Violence matters and Tribunal work. For almost 20 years she has appeared in the Magistrates’ Court, the Children’s Court, the County Court, the Supreme Court, and in Civil and Administrative Tribunals – both in Victoria and interstate.

Ms Kermath also regularly accepts briefs with the Office of Public Prosecutions in a range of indictable prosecution cases, bail applications, County Court Appeals, Supreme Court hearings, pleas, committals, direction hearings, sentences, applications and mentions.

Ms Kermath is the finalist for category of the Barrister of the Year in the Lawyers Weekly Australian Law Awards in 2022, 2021, 2020 and 2019. Ms Kermath was also a Barrister of the Year Finalist for 2021, 2020, 2019 and 2018 Lawyers Weekly Women in Law Awards. Being nominated finalist on numerous occasions is a testament to the respect she has gained for her clients, community and her peers, and an acknowledgment of her skills and determination.

Ms Kermath is a member of the Tasmanian Bar and the Western Australian Bar. She is also member of the Victorian Women’s Bar Association.

Ms Kermath is a keen and lifelong supporter of the Carlton Football Club. She is also a dedicated supporter of animal rights and welfare.
