Matthew Strong is a specialist family law barrister with nearly two decades’ experience representing clients in complex property, parenting, intervention order and appellate matters, including appointments as Independent Children’s Lawyer and briefs from Victoria Legal Aid. 

Practising primarily in Victoria and interstate, he combines strategic advocacy with a warm, measured approach that reflects a deep understanding of the emotional dynamics of family and child-related disputes.

Before coming to the Bar he served as in-house counsel at Victoria Legal Aid and as a trial and appeal advocate with the Northern Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency, appearing across superior and specialist courts in both Victoria and the Northern Territory.
