Carmela accepts briefs in all areas of criminal law.  Carmela is an experienced prosecutor and is frequently briefed as sole counsel in trials.  Carmela accepts briefs both for the OPP as well as for private defence clients.  Carmela attends many country Victorian circuits and has appeared in most Victorian courts.  Her interests within this jurisdiction extend to also include IVO matters, VOCAT matters as well as Coronial Inquests.

Carmela has participated as an advocacy trainer with Victoria University Community Corrections Prosecutor Training Course and has also presented as a part of the ‘Leap Into Law’ education series which engaged students from low socio-economic areas to spark their interest in studying law.

Prior to coming to the Bar Carmela had a broad practice as a solicitor.

Outside of the law Carmela enjoys acting in theatre productions as part of a community theatre group.
