Stephanie’s professional background is in the prosecution of serious criminal and regulatory offences.
As a solicitor at the Office of Public Prosecutions she was responsible for the preparation of prosecutions in the areas of fraud, drug offences, family violence, serious assaults and homicide. She also worked with WorkSafe Victoria lawyers to prosecute alleged breaches of the Occupational Health and Safety Act in the County Court.
Stephanie has considerable experience in written advocacy. She has drafted written advices for the Director of Public Prosecutions regarding the sufficiency of evidence to prosecute, affidavits filed in the Supreme Court, Evidence Act notices as well as advices to counsel regarding the operation of provisions in the Evidence Act, Sentencing Act and Crimes (Mental Impairment and Unfitness to be Tried) Act.
Stephanie has gained invaluable experience working with clients, witnesses and court staff. She brings professionalism, excellent communication skills, and dedication to each and every brief.
Prior to working at the Office of Public Prosecutions, Stephanie completed her articles at Equilaw Solicitors in New South Wales where she worked in the litigation team preparing unfair dismissal claims, medical negligence matters and environment and planning applications.
