About

Daphne Foong accepts briefs in all areas of family law, commercial law and employment law.

Prior to coming to the Bar, Daphne regularly appeared as a solicitor advocate and duty lawyer for the Women’s Legal Service Victoria and Brimbank Melton Community Legal Centre in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court, Federal Circuit Court of Australia and the Bacchus Marsh Magistrates’ Court, assisting clients with family law and family violence matters.

Daphne also practised as a senior solicitor in a generalist practice, advising and representing clients in a broad range of practice areas. In family law she had conduct of family law/ de facto matters in parenting, property, child support, maintenance and intervention order cases.

Daphne’s other matters included applications to assist victims of crime, disputes arising from employee entitlements, contractual disputes, misleading and deceptive conduct, bankruptcy, winding up proceedings and summary crime. She regularly appeared in courts and tribunals in Victoria and interstate and has been a volunteer at the Springvale Monash Legal Service for the past 6 years.

Daphne holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce (major in accounting) from Monash University.

Daphne is reading with Don Farrands and her senior mentor is Gerard Dalton QC.
