About

Ella accepts briefs to appear and advise in a broad range of matters, with a focus on commercial, corporate, and regulatory law. Given her background, she is particularly interested in insolvency matters, contractual disputes, banking and finance litigation, and matters involving breaches of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth).

She is available to appear in both metropolitan and regional courts.

Immediately prior to coming to the Bar, Ella worked in-house at a commercial construction and development company. There, she advised the executive team on corporate governance, strategy, and risk. Ella also worked with internal project teams and external advisers to negotiate disputes with clients (including arms of State and local government) and subcontractors.

Ella was previously a solicitor in DLA Piper’s litigation and regulatory team, where she worked on a broad range of commercial matters including complex litigation in the Federal Court and in the superior courts of Victoria and Queensland.

In 2018, Ella was seconded in-house to the Office of General Counsel of a major financial services provider in Sydney, where she acted in a small team of in-house lawyers tasked with the response to the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry.

Ella has a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Bachelor of International Relations from Bond University.

Ella is reading with Hamish Redd and her senior mentor is Philip Solomon QC.
