Victoria is an experienced advocate admitted to practice law in 2003 and signed the roll of counsel in May 2011. She appears in all courts exercising the jurisdiction of the Family Law Act (Vic) 1975 and Commonwealth and state criminal laws.
Victoria has proven expertise in all manner of family law, criminal law, family violence and intervention order matters and accepts is briefs to appear for applicants and respondents, inclusive of third parties such as grandparents, as well as for the independent children’s lawyer.
Victoria understands the dynamics of relationship breakdown and the increasingly complex junction of family law, family violence and the criminal law. She is often briefed to advise and appear for clients who have matters that consecutively span those jurisdictions.
Prior to coming to the bar Victoria practiced as a solicitor. Firstly, at a private specialist family law practice, then with Victoria Legal Aid and later with a private specialist criminal law practice. This experience has provided her with a broad range of practical experience in those areas and an understanding of the unique challenges they provide.
She is available for regional and circuit matters and is regularly briefed in the Mildura and Bendigo circuits of the Federal Circuit Court.
Victoria is a member of the Family Law Barristers Association, Criminal Barristers Association, Women Barristers Association, the Law Institute of Victoria and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts.
