Recent Experience
Since joining the Victorian Bar, Lisa has appeared in criminal, civil and administrative law matters at all levels and in a number of different jurisdictions, including at the Magistrates Court, County Court, Supreme Court, Family Court, Federal Circuit Court, Fair Work Commission, Children’s’ Court, and at VCAT. Her work extends to appearing at all Melbourne Metropolitan and regional courts across Victoria.

Lisa has also appeared recently at the Coroners Court as junior counsel in the Inquest into the Death of Brenda Claire Goudge.

Prior Experience
Prior to coming to the Bar, Lisa had extensive experience and exposure as an Associate at the County Court of Victoria, of both the criminal and commercial divisions. Lisa was Associate to His Honour Judge Pilgrim and His Honour Judge Montgomery, where she gained an in-depth knowledge of a range of criminal matters, including trials, pleas, appeals from the Magistrates’ Court, breach hearings and IVO contested appeals.  Previous to that, Lisa was the Senior Associate to Her Honour Judge Kennedy, head of the commercial list, where she gained experience in commercial trials, interlocutory applications, serious injury applications and directions hearings.

In addition to her work as a barrister, Lisa is completing a Masters of Public and International Law at the University of Melbourne. She has a developing practice in international public law matters, with a particular interest in international criminal law, security and human rights law.

Lisa is also a Teaching Associate at Monash University Law School in the area of Criminal Law, and is actively involved in providing pro bono assistance to the community as a member of the Victorian Bar Duty Barrister Scheme.

Lisa read with Fiona Ellis. Her Senior Mentor was Mary Anne Hartley QC.
