About

Amy Peek has experience in criminal, administrative and commercial matters. She read with Sally Flynn QC and her senior mentor is Rowena Orr QC. Amy’s main interests are trial and appellate work.

In criminal law, Amy accepts both prosecution and defence briefs. Amy has appeared in multiple trials, involving both State and Commonwealth offences. She also accepts briefs in coronial inquests, commissions of inquiry, regulatory matters and crimes compensation applications.

Over most of 2018, Amy was second junior for the Commonwealth in the foreign incursion case The Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions v Cerantonio & Ors. In that prosecution, Amy participated in the preparation of complex legal argument and statutory interpretation regarding multiple evidentiary and procedural issues.

Before coming to the Bar, Amy was Senior Associate to the Honourable Justice Hollingworth at the Supreme Court of Victoria. While at the Court, she sat with her Honour in diverse criminal proceedings, including white-collar prosecutions.

Amy also worked for the Judicial College of Victoria, Norton Rose Fulbright and Maddocks Lawyers. In private practice, she practised in property, environment and planning law. Amy also has a Masters in Italian history and has taught at the University of Melbourne.

Amy holds an Indictable Crime Certificate.
